Michael Hogan, the new president at the University of Illinois, extolled the value of the CIC to the Big Ten Conference members during a recent with The (Champaign-Urbana) News-Gazette.

"The Committee on Institutional Cooperation ... brings together presidents and provosts to share ideas on the academic side, including sharing programs that make them widely available to all students in the Big Ten," Hogan said.

Hogan is currently the president at the University of Connecticut, but he's no stranger to the CIC. From May 2004 to August 2007, Hogan served as the executive vice president and provost of the University of Iowa, his alma mater. The CIC is governed by the provosts of the member universities who act as a 鈥渂oard of the whole鈥 to lead, guide, and fund the enterprise.
